Michigan '08 FL ATH Justin Feagin (Michigan Signee-Dismissed From School)

Justin Feagin

Athlete
Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage School

Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 190 lbs

Stallions' run will continue if Feagin has his way -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

Quote:
Feagin rarely comes off the field, lining up at cornerback as well. His versatility has helped him in the recruiting process.

The biggest problem colleges face when evaluating Feagin is whether he should be at running back, cornerback, wide receiver, quarterback or safety. Feagin doesn't have his heart set on one position.

"Whatever is the quickest way for me to get on the field," Feagin said. "Most colleges tell me they'll take me as an athlete and test me at different positions."

Feagin has received scholarship offers from West Virginia, Rutgers, LSU, FIU, Southern Mississippi, Cincinnati and Syracuse. He plans on taking official visits to West Virginia, Rutgers, LSU and Southern Mississippi and isn't sure about the fifth one.

Crunch time for UM recruits - 01/09/2008 - MiamiHerald.com

Quote:
UM also is pursuing Delray Beach American Heritage quarterback Justin Feagin to play cornerback, but Blustein believes he's leaning toward West Virginia.

Recruiting treasures still to be had

Quote:
Michigan recruiting Feagin: A few days before American Heritage quarterback Justin Feagin, The Post Small Schools Offensive Player of the Year, led the Stallions to the Class 1A state title, he said that West Virginia was the leading candidate on his recruiting list. Feagin said he was impressed with WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff.

About two weeks later, however, Rodriguez announced he was leaving the Mountaineers to accept the vacant head coaching job at Michigan. That likely ruins WVU's chances of signing Feagin, who for the past two seasons has operated in a spread option offense similar to what Rodriguez ran at West Virginia and will implement at Michigan.

American Heritage coach Willie Bueno said Michigan assistant coach Rod Smith, who left WVU to join Rodriguez in Ann Arbor, will be in Delray Beach this week to meet with him and Feagin.

"We haven't heard from West Virginia since the change," Bueno said.

Feagin left Friday for a visit to Syracuse and also plans to visit Miami and Rutgers. He also may visit Clemson.

Feagins seek truth in recruiting game -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

Quote:
Since Feagin, a starting quarterback/cornerback for the Stallions, helped his team win its first state title, things have really taken off. Michigan, Syracuse, Oregon and Miami are going hard after the speedster. So are Rutgers and West Virginia.

Some top high school recruits remain undecided

Quote:
Feagin also had West Virginia high on his recruiting list before Rodriguez left. Like Odoms, Feagin is ranked among the top 100 prospects in the state by Rivals.com. Some project he will be a safety at the college level, but he likes playing quarterback and played in a spread option offense at American Heritage that is similar to the offense Rodriguez favors.

Rodriguez's departure is the main reason West Virginia no longer is a top choice of Feagin, who also has visited Rutgers and Syracuse. Feagin said he likely will sign with either one of those schools or Michigan.

Feagin echoed the sentiments of Odoms before he left for his trip to Ann Arbor, saying that his choice will be based on a gut feeling as to which school and program best suits him as a player and student.

Feagin and Odoms each said they have enjoyed the recruiting process, although Feagin said that "sometimes the (phone) calls late at night are aggravating." Nonetheless, both players are coming to the end of the recruiting trail.

U-M RECRUITING: He's not Pryor, but Wolverines sign mobile QB Justin Feagin

Quote:
February 6, 2008

FREE PRESS STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

U-M coach Rich Rodriguez looks to have found the one thing that has alluded the Michigan football program for decades: a mobile quarterback.

But his name isn't Terrelle Pryor.

Justin Feagin, a three-star athlete from Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage School, signed a letter-of-intent with Michigan early Wednesday morning, as Signing Day got off to a fast start, according to the Palm Beach Post and South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
