Jones Makes Official Visit To Clemson

OL Ben Jones (6-6 295) of Miami made his official visit to Clemson over the weekend. "It was a good one, I liked everything up here," Jones said. "The environment is way different than Miami. They've got a real gret learning environment and a family atmosphere." Jones was hosted by fellow Miami native Chris Chancellor. He said he spent a lot of time with the coaches including his recruiter David Blackwell. "They seem like great men," he said. "I liked being around them." Jones now has Clemson, Miami and LSU as his three favorites. "My decision will be harder now," he said." He will visit LSU this coming weekend, Ohio State on the 25th and Miami February 1st. Clemson coach Tommy Bowden and Blackwell are scheduled for an in home visit Wednesday.

Clemson Coach Visits Jones

Clemson recruiter David Blackwell made an in home visit Wednesday night with OL Ben Jones (6-6 295) of Miami. "Everything went well," Jones said. "He was just explaining things to my mom, all the things she wanted to know." Jones said right now Clemson and Miami are his top two. "Both are like neck and neck," he said. Jones will visit LSU this weekend. He is scheduled to visit Ohio State January 25th and Miami February 1st.

OL Ben Jones (6-6 295) of Miami was scheduled to visit LSU over the weekend but that visit was canceled. Jones has visited Clemson and he has the Tigers and Miami at the top of his list. "They are like the same," he said. "Until my Miami visit, I can't really say (about a favorite)." Jones is scheduled to visit Ohio State this coming weekend but said he could end up going to Tennessee instead. He is scheduled to visit Miami February 1st. Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden has not yet taken his in home visit. He's expecting Miami head coach Randy Shannon to visit this week. As for what Jones is looking at the most in deciding between the schools, he said, "It's where I can play the fastest. I think I can play fastest at Clemson."

Jones Sees Blackwell Thursday

Clemson recruiter David Blackwell met with OL Ben Jones (6-6 295) of Miami Thursday at his school. Blackwell was the only coach to see Jones Thursday. "He was asking if I was still interested and I told him I was," Jones said. The two met for about thirty minutes. Wednesday Jones was visited by Miami head coach Randy Shannon. Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden has not yet made his in home visit. Jones was scheduled to visit Ohio State this weekend but has canceled tha trip. He will visit Miami February 1st. Jones said there's no favorite for him between Clemson and Miami and he plans to announce at his school on Signing Day.
