From the LSU site...still maintains a top 5 of LSU, USC, Florida, Boston College and Ohio State. Has officials set up to BC, UF and USC and wants to take ones to LSU and OSU as well.

Florida leads over Southern Cal, Ohio State, Boston College, and LSU. Brendan wants to take all five official visits and then announce on October 12th (his birthday).

Rivals - 07/31/07
An article on several East Coast prospects.... According to Mike Farrell, Southern Cal is the team to beat for Beal, with Florida being the dark horse candidate.

Beale brings big-time talent to Liberty -- themorningcall.com
Quote:
Beale's got all his priorities in check, starting with his academics, then his training, football, and his career, which he hopes ends with a job on Wall Street, if not the NFL.
But, first, he wants to finish his required high school credits in double the time for a regular student, play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Jan. 5 in San Antonio, and then not long after that, begin taking college classes at either, USC or Florida.
''I'm putting myself through it because I see all the avenues,'' said Beale, who wants to graduate college in three years with a finance degree. ''I've got to keep my eye on the prize. That's the biggest thing. I've talked to a lot of college coaches, [Florida's] Urban Meyer, [USC's] Pete Carroll, basically the two school's I've narrowed it down to, and both off them said that if I come in early that I have a chance to start as a freshman.''
By starting early, he also will get a jump on his finance degree, adapting to the social aspects of college life, and he'll also play spring football.

Scout.com: Predictions

"During the pre-season, USC and LSU are ranked No. 1 and 2. They are both great programs. They probably have the best athletes in the country, but LSU probably has a bit more speed than USC," Brendan Beal said. "But I don't think that will matter. If they both get to the national championship I think USC would win. They have great athletes at every position and with J.D. Booty running things..."

Brendan missed his official to Florida after his flight was canceled. He plans to reschedule, but already has visits set up to LSU on 10/6 and Southern Cal on 10/13.

Class cutters suspended
Bethlehem Liberty, the Post-Gazette's No. 2 team in PIAA Class AAAA behind Central Catholic, suspended four starters for cutting class at the end of the school day. But Liberty still rolled past Allentown Dieruff, 37-0.
One of the suspended starters was running back/linebacker Brendan Beale, considered one of the best players in the state. Dieruff came in with an 0-4 record.
"I know people will say we did that just because it was Dieruff, but those kids made a mistake," Liberty coach Tim Moncman told the Allentown Morning Call. "Hopefully, they won't make it again."

Brendan says he barely played last week because the opponent was inferior and his coach wanted to rest him. He is excited about visiting LSU this weekend.

"My expectations were high," Brendan Beal said of his trip to Florida. "And it was ridiculously great. Gainesville's a real college town and the people there really love their team and sports. It just blew me away. It was so loud I couldn't even hear myself. I love what they have going for them...This trip really helped me see myself playing there. I loved the Gator Walk too..."

Decision by Liberty's Beal to be revealed tonight -- themorningcall.com
Quote:
From staff and wire reports
October 25, 2007
Liberty senior football player Brendan Beal welcomes the spotlight more than the average high school football player.
That's why he chose to go to the College Sports Television Network studio on Chelsea Piers Sports and Entertainment Complex in New York on Wednesday to announce his decision on which college he will attend.
But his decision won't be revealed until 7 tonight on a taped-delayed segment. On Wednesday night, Beal confirmed that it's between defending national champion Florida and and fellow Southeastern Conference power LSU.
