From the Clemson site. The Clemson coaches have asked Massie to come in for a visit, but he is unsure if he will or not. He says that he is still a Virginia Tech verbal, but adds that he will have to attend Prep School next year.

OL Bobby Massie (6-6 315) will get a visit tonight from Clemson recruiter Andre Powell. "He's going to talk about my official visit coming up and talk to my mom," Massie said. Massie will make his official visit to Clemson this weekend along with several members of his family. He will visit North Carolina February 1st. Massie once was committed to Virginia Tech but has backed off that. He's now considering Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia. But he does not plan to sign next month because he's going to attend Hargrave Prep, VA in the fall and wants to go there unattached.

Massie Has Good Visit To Clemson
By Phil Kornblut
OL Bobby Massie (6-6 315) of Lynchburg, VA made his official visit to Clemson over the weekend. "It went good," he said. "I spent time with the players and coaches. I got a chance to see Vickery Hall, the dorms and the practice facilities. Daquan Bowers was my host and I talked a good bit with coach Powell, coach Scott and coach Napier. And I talked with coach Bowden throughout the weekend. They said I coud play either tackle spot." clemson recruiter Andre Powell will visit Massie Friday. He will visit North Carolina this weekend. And he's been talking to Georgia on and off. Massie said there's a chance he might qualify and avoid going to prep school, but if not, he'll sign with one of the major schools and then go to Hargrave Prep, VA for a season.

Bobby says it is 50/50 on whether he will even qualify, but he will visit UNC this weekend and then possibly choose between Clemson, Georgia, Miami, UNC, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.

OL Bobby Massie (6-6 320) of Lynchburg, VA will spend the next academic year at Hargrave Prep, VA. That's not something he's crazy about. But easing his pain is the knowledge that he's strongly coveted by several schools, including Clemson. "They've told me that going into the recruiting season, I'm the number one person they are recruiting," Massie said of the Tigers' pitch. "That makes me feel good, that I'm the number one guy on their board. Others tell me I'm a real big need at the offensive line position. Virginia Tech says I can come in and start right away. North Carolina says I'm a real big need. Georgia says I can fill in some spots and compete early. Alabama is losing three lineman and I have a real good chance to come in and compete for a starting job." Massie has offers from Clemson, Alabama, North Carolina and Georgia. Coaches from Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Virginia Tech have been thru his school this spring. He does not claim a favorite.

OL Bobby Massie (6-6 340) of Lynchburg, VA took an official visit to Alabama last week, and now he calls the Crimson Tide his favorite. "I was there for the weekend and it was nice down there," said Massie who will attend Hargrave Prep in Virginia this fall. "I liked the people. I spent a lot of time with coach Saban and I like him." Massie also has an offer from Clemson but said he's not heard from recruiter Billy Napier in a while. He also has offers from North Carolina and Georgia and is getting interest from Virginia Tech. Massie doesn't plan a decision until Signing Day.
