Tech gains commitment from 6-8 offensive tackle -- dailypress.com
Quote:
Virginia Tech received a commitment Sunday from offensive tackle Bobby Massie for its 2008 football recruiting class.
Massie, a 6-foot-8, 335-pound recruit from Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, turned down scholarship offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, Maryland and North Carolina. He's the 23rd commitment for No. 15 Tech's '08 class.
Massie visited Tech (4-1 overall, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) this weekend and committed before leaving campus. Feb. 6 will be the first day football recruits can sign a letter-of-intent with a university.
He's the second offensive line recruit to commit to Tech for the '08 class. He joins 6-6, 260-pound prospect Michael Via, a Greensboro, N.C. native who committed in June. Massie will be the tallest player on Tech's roster if no taller recruits sign next February.
