With Ashante Williams scoring at will and the Wildcats' defense swarming the Bulldogs' offense, the much-anticipated matchup between two of The Plain Dealer's Top 25 teams was all but over by halftime.
No. 17 Mayfield led No. 14 Olmsted Falls, 24-0, at the break Friday and cruised to an impressive 33-0 win at Mayfield Municipal Stadium.
"We really wanted this game," Williams said. "We practiced real hard all week, and we knew we were going to have to come out and play smashmouth football with them."

The University of Illinois recruited Williams to play defense, but after the way Williams has looked so far - maybe Illini Coach Ron Zook should look at his offense. Williams rushed for 249 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 carries as Mayfield picked up some huge computer points over Olmsted Falls.
