Can we stop stereotyping spread offenses as "gimmick"? It's absurdly annoying, and yes, I thought this before Rich Rodriguez's hire. Pro-style offenses are designed to cause mismatches, and so are spread offenses. Spread offenses just cause mismatches in a different way than pro-style offenses do. If the cause of Crabtree being drafted so high is because of a gimmick offense, why isn't Danny Amendola carving up NFL defenses?

Crabtree is a better route runner, has better hands, probably quicker than DHB, more physical, and an all-around better receiver. DHB has a fast 40 and barely any collegiate production. Congrats, Raiders. You've drafted Troy Williamson. But hey, at least he runs fast.
