Will elite Cali junior leave the state?
A week ago, we reported Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.) defensive back Sean Parker picked up another early scholarship offer from Arizona State. Colorado and Stanford have offered as well, along with verbal offers from Michigan and Arizona.
Before it's all said and done, expect Parker to have offers from national programs all over the country and be mentioned as one of the top safety prospects in the nation.
With his best friend and teammate Byron Moore headed to USC next year, one would think the Trojans have the inside track on Parker, but that may not be the case.
"To be honest, I actually want to leave the state," Parker said. "I've lived here my whole life and I think it would be fun and good for me to go out and experience something new.
"I would love to hear from programs like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Notre Dame. I also like the Pac-10 programs like Oregon State, Arizona and Arizona State, but really I'm open to anyone right now."
As far as what he's looking for in a school, Parker, a 3.3 (GPA) student, said academics will play a big role.
"The most important thing for me is academics right now," Parker said. "I know you can't play football forever and you're always one injury away from not playing, so I want to pick a school that has a strong academic reputation.
"I'm also looking for an environment that I'll be comfortable in as well as a family atmosphere where I'll fit in well with the coaches and players. Playing early would be cool too but I don't mind red-shirting if I have to."

Notre Dame has a chance to do some big things recruiting in California next year. The Irish already have a commitment from Chris Martin, arguably the top defensive player in the West next year, lead for two-way athlete Anthony Barr and are also looking good for talented defensive back Sean Parker (Harbor City, Calif./ Narbonne).
Parker could be the top safety in the state next year. He totaled 68 tackles and six picks to earn first team all-city, all-area and first team all-state underclass by CalHiSports.com
He combined this past season with USC signee Byron Moore to form a tremendous defensive backfield and is already closing in on double digit scholarship offers.
"I have nice offers right now," Parker said. "Notre Dame is the most recent school to offer and that was a big one. I also have offers from Stanford, Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon, Minnesota and Washington State."
Parker has always said he wanted to leave the area to play his college ball but he does have a couple of in-state schools in his top five.
"Notre Dame is my top school right now followed by Stanford, USC, Florida and Oregon," Parker said. "That's my top five right now but it's early and I plan to go through the recruiting process and take my visits before I commit anywhere."
Parker is carrying a 3.8 GPA and said he plans to major in Business in college. He'll attend the NIKE Camp at USC in April.
