In response to your inquiry about Harris's problems with his handle, to be honest id have to say its a little bit of both of the scenarios you presented...although my observation that his handle was weak was derived from the fact that towards the end of the game vincent pressed for most of the 4th quarter and while generally hamilton's extremely gifted point guard charles lee- i believe that is his name- was able to break the press by himself, however on a few occasions he had to pass it to Harris due to a double team, forcing Harris to bring the ball up and it was on these occasions his lack of a handle was exposed....he simply did not appear comfortable with the ball and would pick up his dribble while dribbling up the court after about 5 dribbles... he also had trouble keeping his head up while attempting to break the press and appeared more concerned with not losing the handle than finding an open teammate. However on the bright side his handle appeared suffice while driving to the basket, although he did not do this much and his immense height and length certainly helped, he was able to take a couple hard dribbles and get into the middle of the lane on a few occasions.
- in regards to cook scoring 11 and harris scoring only 12, harris did most of his damage in the first half and while the game was on the line... vincent opened a large lead at the start of the game only to have hamilton come racing back behind 3 straight deep contested threes by Harris. Similarly in the second half when it was still close, harris made a strong move and got fouled making 1 of 2 and then hit a really nice spinning baseling fadeaway jumper....similarly i believe harris went 3/4 on 3pt's and 1/2 or 1/3 on 2pt attempts and then 1/2 from the line, making him overall about 4/7 from the floor and 1/2 from the line... this was due to the fact that he consistently looked to get others involved and did not play selfishly despite being obviously more skilled than his other teammates. Cook on the other hand i believe got 9 of his eleven points in garbage time on breakdown layups(which he had a great amount of difficulty finishing, i believe he missed 3 straight) and free throws at the end, where he once again struggled. so despite scoring 11 pts id say maybe 2 to 4 of those points came when the game mattered...in addition he easily attempted more fg's than darnell and id guess he ended up shooting at least 10-12 times. i feel like i have painted a very negative picture of cook over my last two posts about him, but i really jut wasnt that impressed, although this is not to say that he merely had an off game and will not improved dramatically over the next couple years, he does have a D1 body and athleticism.
