IIRC, early on in the process he was thought to be one of the the top prospects in the state of Ohio. He may have gotten an offer from tOSU if it weren't for grade issues and success recruiting the position out of state. So this is not a slow play offer from a football standpoint at least.
If he's reporting correctly, Peterman received his offer before Brodrick Jenkins visited, so I wouldn't take this as a sign of poor standing w/ him.
