Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee RB Ben Axon hasn't de-committed from Clemson, following the firing of head coach Tommy Bowden, but he will take some other official visits this fall.
Manatee coach Joe Kinnan told Sporting News Today that Axon will still take his visit to Clemson in November, but in the past day-since the firing-he has set up a visit to West Virginia in December.
Florida State, Purdue and South Carolina have been schools that also have offered scholarships, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Axon has reported.
"He's talked to (Clemson assistant coach) Brad Scott, and he has decided to take his other visits," Kinnan told SN Today. "It may not be the fit that it originally would have been, especially if they choose somebody who is not on staff. You just don't know."
